Umanistic, who are we?

Umanistic was born from a passion for innovation and robotics, coupled with the belief that in a modern world humans should no longer suffer from their physical labor, no matter how difficult it may be.

Umanistic was created in 2022 in Montreal, and offers ergonomic solutions to alleviate suffering at work and to prevent Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD’s), which are the primary cause of occupational disabilities worldwide.

Exoskeletons, without being revolutionary, only appeared to relieve professionals about ten years ago. At the beginning it involved complex, heavy and not really comfortable mechanisms, like the Shiva below, developed by Ergosanté in 2016, one of the very first exoskeletons in the world. It is from this type of equipment that the unflattering comparisons with Robocop or IronMan come.

Ergosanté is a French pioneer in ergonomics and in passive exoskeletons in particular. They have become one of the global leaders in the industry, having sold thousands of copies worldwide and being present in 30 countries, including Canada, where Umanistic has become their exclusive distributor. Since then they have developed the Hapo brand, comprised of 5 different models yet, all available in Canada.

Umanistic imports and distributes in Canada several brands of active and passive exoskeletons manufactured in Europe and the United States.

Umanistic’s service offering is to propose and recommend the most suitable exoskeleton model(s) for your business. This recommendation is based on the postural analysis of the tasks and movements carried out by your employees. Once this analysis and a recommendation of exoskeletons have been made, we carry out tests in real conditions, i.e. training with your employees, on their own workstation in the factory / workshop with different exoskeletons. This step allows us to collect their impressions and comments, make adjustments, and plan the next implementation stages. Finally, deployment involves more in-depth training, regular monitoring, a parts and labor guarantee and assistance in equipment maintenance. Umanistic customers all benefit from personalized assistance and are assured of knowing the latest innovations in ergonomics and exoskeletons.

Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions about exoskeletons and how to implement them in your business. Whether you are a multinational looking for a solid EHS solution, an SME looking to extend the employability of aging workers, or a solo entrepreneur, Umanistic certainly has a solution for you.
